Jan-Carl Plagge

Jan-Carl Plagge is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Head of ESG Research at Vanguard since October 2018, where the focus is on analyzing ESG investment strategies and investor behavior. Prior to this role, Jan-Carl held the position of Head of Active-Passive Portfolio Research at Vanguard, specializing in index investing and writing research papers. From July 2010 to October 2018, Jan-Carl was the Head of Research and a Managing Director at STOXX Ltd. (Deutsche Börse Group), concentrating on the development of indices for structured products and ETFs. Jan-Carl began this career with Deutsche Börse as a Product Developer in the Index Business from March 2006 to June 2010. Jan-Carl holds a Ph.D. in Finance from EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht and a Master of Science in Finance and Controlling from the University of Münster.
