Nicholas Shumpis

Nicholas Shumpis is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in operations management and strategic planning across various high-stakes environments. Currently serving as Chief of Staff - Air and Space at Vannevar Labs since June 2023, Nicholas has previously held significant roles such as Mission Development Manager and Mission Development Lead in the same organization. In April 2025, Nicholas began working as a Mortgage Loan Originator at UMortgage. Prior to these positions, Nicholas served as Director of Business Operations and Strategy at Backd Business Funding, and as a Senior Operations Manager in the US Army, where leadership involved coordinating large-scale training events and managing substantial budgets. Notably, Nicholas has a strong background in aviation operations, having managed multi-million dollar training programs and led cross-functional teams within the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security from Austin Peay State University.
