Doug Bopp is an accomplished physicist and entrepreneur, currently serving as the Founder of Vapor Cell Technologies since June 2020, where the focus is on making Quantum 1.0 Technologies widely accessible. Previously, Doug worked as a Research Assistant at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) from June 2016 to June 2020, contributing to the Atomic Devices and Instrumentation group under John Kitching. In this role, Doug specialized in integrating photonic circuitry with atomic vapor cells to develop innovative portable, low-power atomic optical standards and sensors utilizing mass manufacturable microfabrication techniques. Doug holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder (2014-2019) and a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Math and Physics from Arizona State University (2010-2014).
