Tor Arne Sørli

Electrical Commissioning Engineer at Vår Energi

Tor Arne Sørli has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily in electrical commissioning engineering roles. Tor Arne is currently working at Vår Energi as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer. Prior to that, they worked at Statoil from 2017 to 2021 as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer and System Responsible for Johan Sverdrup phase 1 and 2. Tor Arne was responsible for writing commissioning procedures and executing commissioning in a safe and efficient manner. Tor Arne spent 7 months at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea and 1.5 years offshore in Norway.

Before joining Statoil, Tor Arne worked at Det norske oljeselskap ASA from 2014 to 2017 as an EIT Engineer for Ivar Aasen LQ. Tor Arne also has previous experience at Statoil as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer and Commissioning Engineer from 2012 to 2014. Tor Arne worked at Erbus A/S as an MC/Commissioning Engineer from 2011 to 2012 and at Aker Solutions as an MC-Lead, Onshore from 2010 to 2011. Their earliest work experience in the industry was at Statoil from 2009 to 2010 as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer.

Tor Arne Sørli obtained a Certificate of apprenticeship in Electrical from Rubbestadneset Yrkesskule, where they studied from 1983 to 1985. Tor Arne later pursued an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering from Høgskulen Stord / Haugesund, completing their studies from 2006 to 2009.
