Stefan Bunk

Stefan Bunk has worked in a variety of positions in the tech industry since 2013. Stefan started their career as a Research Assistant at SAP in 2013. In 2014, they became a Research Assistant at the Hasso Plattner Institute, where they worked on a distributed entity linking library for Apache Flink. In 2015, they were a Bachelor Research Fellow at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), where they conducted research on the use of terms and phrases in business processes. In 2016, they were a Software Engineering and Data Science intern at HERE, where they developed and implemented methods for analyzing and assessing routes suggested by the routing engine. In 2017, they became a Machine Learning Engineer at Merantix, where they helped build the company's core machine learning infrastructure. Finally, in 2018, they founded and became CTO of Vara.

Stefan Bunk obtained their High School degree (Abitur) from Gymnasium Brandis in 2010. Stefan then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in IT-Systems Engineering from the Hasso Plattner Institute, which they completed in 2013. Stefan continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a Master's Degree in IT-Systems Engineering in 2016.
