Heidi Søsted is the current CEO of Varefakta. Heidi has previously served on the advisory board of AllergyCertified and as a strategisk tænketank for Come-back. Heidi was also a senior health advicer for Forbrugerrådet from 1998 to 2002, a hovedbestyrelsesmedlem for Landsorganisationen i Danmark - LO from 2016 to 2017, and a cand.pharm., PhD, forbundssekretær for Serviceforbundet from 2014 to 2017. Søsted has also been a centerleder for Videncenter for Frisører og Kosmetikere, Afd. K., Gentofte hospital from 2006 to 2013, and a seniorforsker for Gentofte Hospital from 2006 to 2008. Heidi completed their Ph.d.-studerende at Videncenter for Allergi in 2007.
Heidi Søsted has a PhD in Allergic Contact Dermatitis to Hair Dye Ingredients from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen. Heidi also has a Mini MBA in Organisation og ledelse from Probana Business School, as well as Gentofte hospitals interne lederuddannelse. Søsted is a Cand.pharm. in Farmakologi from Danmarks Farmaceutiske Universitet, and they have a Studentereksamen in Matematisk naturfaglig from Næstved Gymnasium. Finally, they have a Folkeskole in 9. klasse from Sct. Jørgens Skole and 7. klasse from Svenstrup Skole.

Varefakta is a self-governing institution, founded in 1957. Varefakta is a unique labelling system.
