Michael Meiler Ph.d., Mba

Michael Meiler, PH.D., MBA, PMP has extensive work experience in the field of medical imaging technology and research. Michael has held managerial roles at various companies, including Varex Imaging Corporation and Varian Medical Systems. At Varex Imaging Corporation, they led interdisciplinary teams in the development and research of next-generation X-ray tubes and electronics, as well as CT electronics and generators. Michael also played a key role in strategic planning, project management, and regulatory compliance.

Prior to their time at Varex Imaging Corporation, Dr. Meiler worked at Varian Medical Systems as an Electro-magnetics Engineer, where they led a team in the development of electronics for magnetic beam steering and focusing in X-ray tubes. Michael was responsible for product life cycle planning, customer relations, and system integration.

Before joining Varian Medical Systems, Dr. Meiler served as the Director of MR Physics at SciMedix Inc., where they managed a team in the development of a specialty MRI/NMR system for oncology. Michael was involved in all aspects of product development, including regulatory compliance, installation planning, and customer support.

In addition to their industry experience, Dr. Meiler has also worked as a consultant and president of Front Range Medical Imaging Consulting, LLC. Michael has led the development of medical devices for MRI-guided tissue harvesting and MRI biopsy systems. Michael has also been involved in the development of animal handling systems for simultaneous imaging and MRI breast biopsy systems.

Dr. Meiler's earlier work experience includes roles at Bolder Systems, LLC, Colorado MEDTech, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and the German Air Force. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in MRI physics, system engineering, research, teaching, and program management.

Michael Meiler earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration from Colorado State University, which they completed between 2008 and 2010. Prior to that, they pursued a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 1996 to 1999. Michael also obtained a Master of Engineering (ME) in Biomedical Engineering from the same institute in 1996. Their undergraduate degree is a Dipl. Ing. univ. in Nachrichtentechnik, which they acquired from Bundeswehr University Munich between 1987 and 1991. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in May 2014.
