Gabriel Haras

President, Head of Cancer Therapy Imaging at Varian Medical Systems

Dr. Gabriel Haras joined Siemens Healthineers in 2004 and serves as Executive Vice President, Cancer Therapy, following the combination of Varian and Siemens Healthineers.

Dr. Haras’ current role builds on his five-year experience leading Siemens Healthineers Radiation Oncology business, where he has been responsible for the multi-modality radiotherapy imaging business (CT, MRI, PET/CT, and software) as well as the Sustaining and Maintenance business of Siemens Healthineers Linear Accelerator and Particle Therapy installed base. In 2019, his role was broadened to lead initiatives to enable image-guided cancer therapy through the use of high-quality imaging and software solutions for radiation oncology, interventional oncology, and surgical oncology procedures. Under his leadership, Siemens Healthineers developed a dedicated, comprehensive and highly innovative multi-modality portfolio, positioning the company as one of the strongest players in imaging in radiation oncology and paving the way for new advances in minimally invasive, image-guided cancer therapies.

Dr. Haras previously served as Vice President for the Siemens Healthineers Computed Tomography business, heading Global Strategy & Product Management for four years. In that role, he contributed significantly to a highly innovative and competitive CT portfolio. In addition, Dr. Haras held multiple cross-functional roles within Siemens Healthineers in R&D and Product Management.

Dr. Haras is a physician and holds a Medical Doctorate, summa cum laude, from Justus-Liebig-University Giessen in Germany.
