Magnus Olderø Sæther has a diverse work experience. Magnus started their career in 1997 as an Electrician at Fjeldseth AS and worked there until 2004. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Teacher and Supervisor at NTNU, focusing on literary and linguistic analysis. Following that, from 2009 to 2011, Magnus worked as a Teacher, specifically in Norwegian literature, at Volda University College. In 2011, they briefly worked as a Teacher of Norwegian language and literature at Charlottenlund VGS.
In 2011, Magnus joined Powel AS, where they held various roles until 2019. Initially, they worked as a Technical Writer from September 2011 to June 2013, responsible for managing communication and documentation needs. From June 2013 to June 2015, they served as a Technical Communicator, focusing on communication flow and mapping customer value for Smart Grid utilities department. From June 2015 to May 2019, Magnus worked as a Designer and Communication Strategist, playing an integral role in designing, developing, and communicating software. Magnus also developed communication strategies and stories that emphasized user value and supported co-creative design and development processes.
From 2019, Magnus joined Variant as a Senior Designer. Magnus is currently responsible for designing innovative solutions and leveraging their expertise in the field.
In addition to their current role, Magnus also started working in 2022 as an External Examiner and Supervisor at NTNU Faculty of Architecture and Design.
Magnus Olderø Sæther began their education at Brundalen Upper Secondary School from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained a degree in Electrical installations and became an electrician. Magnus then went on to study at Sør-Trøndelag University College (HiST) from 2003 to 2004, where they pursued a college/university preparatory course in Engineering. After this, they attended the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2005 to 2008, completing their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Norwegian Language and Literature. Magnus continued their academic journey at NTNU from 2008 to 2010, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in the same field. Lastly, from 2010 to 2011, they returned to NTNU as a lecturer in Teacher Training.
