Claire Popp is an NGS Molecular Technologist at Variantyx since August 2025, with previous experience as an Assay Development Research Associate at Scanogen Inc., where work focused on innovating molecular detection assays for sepsis diagnosis. Prior roles include serving as a Forensic DNA Scientist at SNA International, where Claire conducted DNA analyses to identify POW and Armed Service Members, and as a Forensic Autopsy Intern at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Maryland, assisting in death investigations through anatomical analyses. Claire began an academic career in forensic studies with independent research in forensic entomology at Loyola University Maryland and managed marketing and communication efforts for Campus Ministry. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Forensic Medicine from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Forensic Studies from Loyola University Maryland, and studies at Newcastle University in Biomedical Biology.
