Borna Shani

Borna Shani is currently a Product Engineer Intern at Variational AI, focusing on the development of a client-facing platform for the Enki foundation model for drug discovery. Previously, Borna served as the Director of Investments at Front Row Ventures, leading a team responsible for deal sourcing and investment strategies for pre-seed startups. In addition to this role, Borna contributed to the BC Investment Team, overseeing due diligence for significant investments. Other notable experiences include positions at UBC Launch Pad as a Product Lead and a Software Developer at The University of British Columbia, where innovative educational tools were developed. Borna has also co-founded TeachAdapt, which provides online engagement strategies for educators, and served as an Investment Analyst at Nimbus Synergies. Borna holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of British Columbia, anticipated in May 2026.
