Jussi Mäkinen

Jussi Mäkinen has a diverse and extensive work experience in marketing, branding, and advisory roles. Jussi began their career as a summer trainee at Nokia in 2005. Jussi later worked as a graduate trainee, focusing on user innovation, co-creation, and product marketing. Jussi also served as a Finpro Market Analyst at the Embassy of Finland in Tokyo.

In 2007, Mäkinen joined Nokia as a Product Marketing Manager for the Nokia N900 smartphone. Jussi then took on the role of Lead User Marketing Manager for the Nokia N9, where they were responsible for the product proposition and launch activities. Mäkinen later became the Lead Dreamer for the Nokia Asha smartphone range, creating a vision and strategy for product creation, design, and marketing.

Mäkinen shifted to Rovio Entertainment Ltd. in 2014 as the VP of Marketing, leading the product and creative marketing for all games and products. Jussi also served as the Brand Director for the Angry Birds brand at Rovio Entertainment Ltd.

In 2016, Mäkinen became an advisor for AImotive, a company developing AI in the automotive industry. Jussi then joined Varjo in 2017 as the Chief Brand Officer, where they were responsible for driving global product and brand marketing activities.

Mäkinen continued their advisory roles, serving as an advisor for Osgenic, MeetinVR, and as a Startup Mentor for Nordic XR Startups.

Jussi Mäkinen received their M.Sc.(Econ.) degree in marketing, product development, and technology from Helsingin kauppakorkeakoulu from 2001 to 2006. Jussi also attended Seoul National University's Graduate School of International Studies in 2004, and Sichuan University for Chinese economics & cultural studies in the same year.
