Rainer Stern

Rainer Stern is an experienced professional in the battery technology sector, currently serving as Manager Process Development 21700 at VARTA AG since July 2020. Prior to this role, Rainer held the position of Zellexperte at BMW Group from September 2016 to June 2020. Rainer's career began at ZSW Labor Für Batterietechnologie, where from April 2009 to August 2016, responsibilities included leading the cell manufacturing division and managing projects focused on the development, setup, and operation of production facilities for lithium-ion cells. Additionally, Rainer served as Project Leader at Varta Microbattery from July 2004 to April 2009, overseeing prototype construction and the optimization of manufacturing processes in the research and development sector.
