Nikhilesh Kumar has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. Nikhilesh co-founded Vassar Labs in 2015 and is currently holding that position. Nikhilesh also worked at Johnson Matthey as an Assistant Manager Instrumentation from 2009 to 2010, leading a project team and overseeing engineering, safety studies, and site execution. Starting their career at Sterlite Technologies Ltd. in 2007, Nikhilesh served as an Executive Project Engineer, managing the operation of a green field hydrogen generation plant. Throughout their various roles, Nikhilesh has demonstrated skills in business development, project management, engineering, and team leadership.

Nikhilesh Kumar's education history begins in 2001 when they attended Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya and completed their Higher Secondary education in Bio-Science in 2003. After that, they pursued a B.Tech (Hons) in Instrumentation Engineering (Electrical Department) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, from 2003 to 2007.

In 2006, they completed an internship at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), and in 2007, they did another internship at Politecnico di Torino. In 2013, Nikhilesh attended the Indian School of Business, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.

Additionally, in November 2014, Nikhilesh obtained the PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
