Juan Cepeda-Rizo, Ph.D has a diverse work experience in the field of thermal and structural analysis. Juan started their career at Teradyne as a Mechanical Engineer, where they worked on advanced electronic packaging and R&D projects. Juan then joined the Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Lead Thermal Systems Engineer, where they led the analysis of electronic hardware for the Europa project and co-led the analysis and design for the Mars 2020 rover hardware. Juan also worked as a Senior Spacecraft Engineer at Rocket Lab before joining Fluid Flux Technologies, where they served as the Business Owner and offered thermal and structural analysis services for aerospace and commercial sectors. Currently, Juan is working as a Principal Thermal Analyst at VAST. In addition to their professional roles, they have also served as an Adjunct Professor at Cal State Long Beach.
Juan Cepeda-Rizo, Ph.D has a strong educational background in the field of engineering and mathematics. From 1987 to 1993, they attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Engineering, specializing in Materials Engineering, from 1995 to 1997 at the same institution. Continuing their academic journey, they later attended Claremont Graduate University from 2001 to 2006 and earned a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics.
