Stefanie Lawless

Director of Cyber Security at VASTEC

Stefanie Lawless has a long and varied work history. Stefanie began their career in 2006 as an Information Services Technician in the US Army. Stefanie then served as a Senior Systems Administrator, Helpdesk NCOIC (Helpdesk Service Manager) and Information Services Technician while in the Army. In 2016, they joined MBAF as an Information Security Manager, where they managed all facets of Information Security globally across 11 offices and over 700 users. In 2019, they joined Purdue University Global as an Adjunct Faculty, and Raymond James as an Information Security Manager, where they managed a team of 10 personnel with the responsibility to maintain/engineer/administrate all security applications amongst over 30,000 endpoints. Currently, they are the Director of Cyber Security at VASTEC, leading the information security program across 5 different networks, maintaining FISMA High and FISMA Moderate status.

Stefanie Lawless has an extensive education history. Stefanie obtained their Master's Degree in Information Technology and Database Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus between 2014 and 2016. Stefanie is currently pursuing their Doctor of Information Technology (DIT) in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Capella University, which they began in 2018 and is expected to complete in 2022. Stefanie also obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Global Campus between 2007 and 2013. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including the MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure from Microsoft in 2016, the MCSA: Windows Server 2012 from Microsoft in 2016, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2021, the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in 2021, and the Security + (CE) from CompTIA in 2010.
