Dr. Lee James-Pettway, DNP, RN has extensive work experience in the healthcare and education fields. From 1998 to 2005, they worked as a Staff Nurse at Warren Manor Nursing Home, where they provided healthcare to a diverse aging population, performed daily activities, administered medication, and developed recreational activities for residents. From 2005 to 2007, they served as a Staff Nurse at Rehab First. In 2007, they joined Vaughn Regional Medical Center as a Hospital Nurse Educator, a role they held until 2020. During this time, they contributed to the education and training of medical center staff. In 2013, they began working as an Adjunct Faculty member at Wallace Community College and in 2014, they became a Fulltime Faculty/Instructor/Nursing Academic Advisor at Fortis College Montgomery School of Nursing. Lastly, in 2020, they became the Director of Education & Training at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Lee James-Pettway, DNP, RN obtained a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Walden University in an undisclosed year before 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Nursing Education from South University between 2010 and 2012. In 2009, they completed their BSN at Auburn University at Montgomery. Before that, they received an Associate Science Degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Wallace Community College Selma, graduating in 2007. In 2005, they obtained an Associate Science Degree in General Studies from Wallace Community College. Dr. James-Pettway began their nursing education journey by achieving licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Wallace Community College Selma in 1998.

In addition to their extensive education background, Dr. James-Pettway holds various certifications. Dr. Lee obtained certification from The National Society of Leadership and Success in March 2020 and completed the Selma Dallas County Leadership Class XXV in May 2019. Furthermore, they obtained the TNCC certification from the Emergency Nurses Association in April 2017. Most recently, in March 2021, they became a Handle With Care Instructor certified by Handle With Care Behavior Management System Inc. Dr. James-Pettway also has aspirations to become an ACLS Instructor, BLS Instructor, First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor through the American Heart Association, although the dates of certification for these have not been provided.
