Jan Deneke

Jan Deneke, Ph.D., currently serves as a Staff Scientist in Downstream Process Development at Vaxcyte, focusing on the development of the next-generation pneumonia vaccines VAX-24 and VAX-31 using a cell-free expression system. Previously, Jan held the position of Downstream Purification Senior Scientist and Process Development Team Lead at Alector, where responsibilities included developing purification processes for therapeutic antibodies and establishing GLP manufacturing standards. Jan's career also includes significant tenures at Agilent Technologies and ProZyme, primarily leading process development for Glyko and Phyco product lines, where notable achievements included scaling production and enhancing product quality. Earlier roles at Lucigen Corp. involved managing the Cazyme product line and successfully launching multiple new products. Jan holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Freie Universität Berlin, has completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary, and obtained a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Freie Universität Berlin.
