Vella (Yiting) Liu

Vella (Yiting) Liu has a diverse work experience. Vella (Yiting) began their career in 2014 as a Partner at TRevolution, LLC. Vella (Yiting) then held roles as an Office Assistant, Orientation Ambassador, and Resident Advisor at The Ohio State University in 2014-2016. In 2016, they became a Student Assistant at Hund Lab, and in 2017, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and a Student Intern at BD. In 2018, they were a Laboratory Technician in Quality Assurance at BD. From 2019-2021, they were a Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Chip-Seq Project Lead at Boston University. Her roles included self-taught object-oriented programming skills to create a computational kidney's proximal tubule model in Python based on an existing Fortran model, measuring latent TGF-beta content in bovine cartilage tissue models using ELISA, mechanically characterizing bioprinted crimped collagen and substrate, and operating biomechanical testing on Alzheimer's disease cerebrovessels. In 2021, they were an Engineer I and Engineer II at Vaxess Technologies and a Producer at the Boston University Biomedical Engineering (BU BME) Distinguished Faculty Interview Series.

Vella (Yiting) Liu has an extensive educational background. Vella (Yiting) completed their Canadian BC Dogwood Diploma at The Shanghai Nanyang Model High School from 2011-2014. Vella (Yiting) then went on to earn their undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and Psychology from The Ohio State University between 2014-2018. Currently, they are pursuing their Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University College of Engineering, which they are expected to complete in 2021. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, such as Biotechnology Project Management from MassBioEd Foundation in August 2022, Getting Started with SAS Programming from Coursera in June 2021, Learn SQL Course from Codecademy in May 2021, Learn Python 3 Course from Codecademy in February 2021, and FndBioImg2x: Fundamentals of Biomedical Imaging : Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) from edX in February 2019.
