George Olivier

George Olivier is an experienced mining engineer with a career spanning over two decades, currently serving as Executive Business Development and Director, Principal Mining Engineer at VBKOM since July 2008. Olivier specializes in mining project studies and operational mine planning across various commodities throughout the African continent. Previous roles include Mining Engineer at Ukwazi and Production Head of Loading and Hauling at Kumba Resources, where responsibilities ranged from consultancy to overseeing open pit operations. Early experience includes positions at Iscor Mining and Anglo Amercon Corporation, where foundational skills in underground mining were developed. George Olivier holds an MBA from GIBS Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from the University of Pretoria, along with several professional certifications, including Pr.Eng and Mine Managers Certificate of Competency.
