Bertil Van Vugt

Bertil van Vugt is an experienced professional in operations and business development, currently serving as the Director of Operations and Business Development at VC4A since July 2014. In this role, Bertil manages various teams dedicated to online platform services, entrepreneurship program implementation, and marketing, while overseeing client and partnership relations. Bertil has a history of building partnerships to support startup entrepreneurs in emerging markets and has led initiatives such as the Inclusive Business Accelerator, focusing on impactful entrepreneurship in BoP markets. Additionally, Bertil is a board member for Akvo Kenya, contributing to the organization's growth in East Africa. Previous experience includes key roles at MAKMENDE Media, where Bertil managed media productions and coordinated a network of local media professionals across multiple continents. Bertil's educational background includes a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
