Christopher Doern is an experienced microbiologist currently serving as the Director of Clinical Microbiology at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine since January 2018. In addition, Christopher has held the position of Associate Director of Microbiology at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System since December 2013. Prior to these roles, Christopher was the Director of Microbiology at Children's Medical Center from July 2010 to December 2013. Christopher earned a PhD in Microbiology from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, completing the degree in 2008, and further advanced studies at Washington University in St. Louis from 2008 to 2010.
