Stephen Bickston

Stephen Bickston currently serves as the Medical Director of the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at VCU Health System since January 2009. Bickston has been a member of the American Gastroenterological Association since 1992. From August 1995 to December 2008, Bickston held the position of Director of the Clinical Program in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the University of Virginia. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completed in 1988, followed by Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology residency programs at Washington University in St. Louis, with completion in 1995. Bickston also holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology from Duke University, earned in 1984, and attended Seoul American from 1978 to 1980.
