Markjan Vermeer has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Markjan began their career at IMS in 2000, where they worked as a Project Manager and Customer Manager, responsible for sales, project management, and customer relations. Markjan then transitioned to Promens Deventer in 2006, where they served as the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance. In this role, they oversaw the implementation of new products into production and managed manufacturing engineering and maintenance teams.
In 2010, Vermeer started their own business, Vermeer Guitars, as a Guitar Maker and Manufacturing Expert. Markjan specialized in special repairs, restorations, and guitar design. Markjan also worked as a Manufacturing & Automation Expert and Service Manager at Santa Cruz Guitar Company from 2011 to 2013. In this role, they focused on improving production processes, introducing a continuous improvement cycle, and achieving quality improvement and higher production output.
From 2013 to 2020, Vermeer worked at IMS - Integrated Mechanization Solutions as the Commercial Director. Markjan was responsible for sales, business development, and marketing, and played a role in creating the technology roadmap.
Most recently, Vermeer joined VDL Enabling Technologies Group (ETG) in 2020 as the Director of Business Development & Key Account Management. Markjan'sresponsibilities include identifying and creating new business opportunities, product management, and change management.

Markjan Vermeer earned a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from the University of Twente, which they attended from 1994 to 2000. In 2017 to 2019, they pursued Key Account Management at Sales Improvement Group. Markjan also engaged in Senior Management studies at Krauthammer International from 2010 to 2011. In addition, Markjan attended CVO - Rivierenland in 2009 to 2010 for Musical Instrument Building. Lastly, they completed a course in Smart Consulting Skills at VanHollandVanKessels & Partners in 2006.
