Justin Hayes

Justin Hayes has extensive work experience in the technology industry, spanning various roles and responsibilities. Justin is currently the Head of Field Engineering at Vectara, where they ensure the accessibility and understanding of neural search in applications. Prior to that, Justin worked as a Technical Advisor at Swim, focusing on the intelligent edge software platform and its applications in multiple industries.

Justin also has a strong background in data warehouse product management at Cloudera, where they held positions such as Head of Data Warehouse Product, Senior Director, and Director. Justin was involved in bringing new products to market by understanding customer needs and leading the design, development, and release processes.

Before Cloudera, Justin worked at Red Hat as a Principal Architect, specializing in open source solutions related to middleware, big data, and cloud technologies. Justin applied their expertise to architecting solutions for challenging IT problems using open source software.

Earlier in their career, Justin served as the Director of Technology at The Cradle, overseeing software development, operations, and external partnerships. Justin also worked as a Senior Consultant at High Performance Technologies Inc, where they contributed to enterprise document workflow and data analysis applications.

Furthermore, Justin has experience as an Independent Consultant, collaborating with clients to meet their software development needs, and as a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin, where they led software development projects and advocated for a shift to a services-oriented architecture.

Throughout their career, Justin has demonstrated proficiency in various technologies, including J2EE, MySQL, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, Ruby on Rails, PHP, JBoss, PKI, and more. Justin Hayes earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Wake Forest University, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. Continuing their academic journey, Hayes completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science at George Mason University from 2000 to 2003.
