Laurence Goodby

Laurence Goodby has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. They are currently working as a Software Engineer at Vectara since February 2022. Prior to that, Laurence worked at Google for 14 years, starting in October 2008 and ending in 2022. During this time, Laurence held the role of Software Engineer. Before Google, Laurence worked at Selectica as a Principal Engineer from March 2000 to April 2007. Laurence also gained experience at Agilent Technologies as a Software Engineer, Member of Technical Staff from November 1999 to March 2000. Additionally, Laurence worked at Hewlett-Packard as a Software Engineer, Member of Technical Staff from 1997 to 2000. Laurence's early work experience includes a role as a Senior Software Engineer and Project Manager at Carnegie Group from 1985 to 1991.

Laurence Goodby earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1985. Laurence then pursued a Master of Science degree in the same field at UC San Diego, completing it in 1993. Laurence furthered their education by obtaining a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego in 1997.
