Tristan Ford's work experience begins with their current role as CEO at Vectech, which began in June 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University from May 2018 to June 2020. Before joining The Johns Hopkins University, Tristan was a Summer Engineering Fellow in the Chen Lab at Washington University in St. Louis, where they tested drug-carrying nanoemulsions under varying high intensity focused ultrasound parameters. They also worked as a Xerox Engineering Research Fellow & Research Assistant in the Dalecki Lab at the University of Rochester, where they investigated ultrasound control of collagen protein microstructure, and as a Research Assistant in the Mcaleavey Lab, where they studied the non-linear elastic properties of fibrotic liver.
Tristan's earlier experience includes an internship as a Medical Imaging and Product Development Intern at MAUI Imaging, Inc in 2014, where they wrote technical design history for an ultrasound imaging system, and a role as a Students' Association Senator at the University of Rochester from September 2013 to May 2014, where they collaborated with university administrators on student needs and projects.

From 2013 to 2017, Tristan attended the University of Rochester, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering.
In 2017, Tristan enrolled in The Johns Hopkins University and completed a Master's Degree in Bioengineering Innovation & Design. This program lasted until 2018.
During the same period, from 2017 to 2019, Tristan also pursued a Certificate in Global Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
