Richard Tims

Richard Tims is a seasoned executive with a strong background in digital strategy, cyber security, and data management. As Chief Digital and Data Officer at Vector Limited from January 2025 to September 2025, Richard also held the position of GM Business Performance and Internal Assurance. Prior experience includes serving as a Partner and national lead for the Cyber service line at KPMG New Zealand from March 2019 to July 2024, where responsibilities encompassed strategy development, team coaching, and client relationship management. Richard’s tenure at Vector Limited from March 2017 to February 2019 as GM Cyber Security and Privacy involved building a specialized team to safeguard critical technology systems across Australia and New Zealand. Early career positions include Director of Consulting at PwC from April 2010 to March 2016 and Chief Technology Officer at NZ Lotteries from January 2008 to January 2010. Richard earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago and is a Chartered Accountant with a Certificate of Public Practice from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
