Craig Nelson

Craig Nelson began their work experience as a Senior Data Warehouse Developer at Transplace in 1999. Craig then moved on to join Brierley in 2004, where they held various roles such as Data Warehouse Architect, Director of Data Warehousing, and Principal Data Architect/VP CRM Engineering. During this time, they managed a team of developers, designed client reporting environments, and oversaw engineering squads supporting Loyalty on Demand installations. In 2020, Nelson joined ClearScale as an AWS Solution Architect, specializing in data strategy initiatives and cloud-native solution builds. Craig later joined Cloudera in 2021 as a Solution Engineer, leading customer requirements gathering sessions and recommending solutions based on the Cloudera stack. Currently, Nelson is working at Redpanda Data as a Solution Engineer.

Craig Nelson earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics from Eastern Illinois University, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) from the institution itself. These include the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification obtained in October 2020, as well as two AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certifications earned in March and April 2020, respectively.
