Giulia De Sabbata has worked in various scientific roles since 2010. Giulia began their career at the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, where they obtained their Ph.D. In 2016, they began working at ICGEB and Selecta Biosciences as a Research Scientist, where they were responsible for developing a novel AAV gene therapy product to treat OTC deficiency. In 2020, Giulia joined PEPSCOPE as Head of Services and Scientist. Currently, they are working as a Principal Scientist Vector Technology at VectorY.
Giulia De Sabbata completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in molecular medicine from The Open University between 2010 and 2014. Between 2005 and 2010, they earned a Laurea triennale + laurea specialistica in Biologia cellulare e molecolare, genomica funzionale from Università degli Studi di Trieste. Giulia also earned a laurea magistrale in genomica funzionale in Biologia cellulare e molecolare from Università degli Studi di Trieste.
