Tony Zander

MD, Product & Development at Vectr Ventures

Tony Zander joined Vectr Ventures in 2015 with a focus on product, development and entertainment related investments. Tony co-heads the Vectr Studio, an in-house technical agency and sits on the Advisory Board and/or Board of Directors on both internal and external teams. Tony is a lead advisor and member of the co-founding team of Betatron, a venture backed accelerator based in Hong Kong. Most recently, Tony co-founded Area28 Technologies, a venture Studio initiative, where is currently the CEO.

Prior to joining Vectr Ventures, Tony held a principal leadership role at the Bruce Artwick Organization developing the graphics engine behind the Flight Simulator franchise, which was acquired by Microsoft. During his tenure at Microsoft, he led numerous teams developing V1.0 products for conception through launch (Xbox, Surface, Windows Phone) before moving to Microsoft Research in Beijing where he commercialized initiatives into products for China and global markets. Tony then moved to Shanghai and partnered with a start-up as CCO/COO, where he subsequently scaled development to over 200+ employees across three locations (Seattle, Shanghai and Nanjing). Tony also founded Little Red Studios in Hong Kong and was accepted into the Incutrain Program at Cyberport.

Tony is co-chair of the MS program admissions committee at Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and lectures MS courses in Game Design, Game Development, Interaction Design and AR/VR technologies.

Tony earned a B.A. in Industrial Design from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and did his graduate studies at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana in Experimental Visualization.
