Matthew Silver serves as the Vice President of Data Science at Vectra AI, where leadership of the data science organization focuses on advancing AI-driven threat detection and solidifying Vectra's position in the XDR market. With a progressive career at Vectra spanning from Data Scientist to Senior Director, Matthew has been instrumental in developing algorithms for identifying advanced attacker behaviors and simplifying data architectures through a data mesh approach. Prior roles include Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, researching cognitive functions and neural mechanisms, as well as Research and Teaching Assistant at Boston University, where Matthew developed computational models and implemented various machine learning algorithms. Academic credentials include a PhD in Cognitive and Neural Systems from Boston University and a BA in Neuroscience with a Computer Science minor from Hamilton College.
