Ron Christian has held various executive positions in the energy industry throughout their career. Ron began their career as an Associate Attorney at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in 1983 and later worked at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP as an Associate Attorney and Partner from 1986 to 1989. In 1989, they joined Indiana Energy, Inc. as Counsel for Regulatory Affairs and later became the Corporate Secretary. Ron then moved to Michigan Consolidated Gas Company in 1997, where they served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary until 1999. Christian returned to Indiana Energy, Inc. in 1999 as Vice President and General Counsel. Following the merger of Indiana Energy with Sigcorp, they became the Vice President and General Counsel of Indiana Energy, Inc. (now part of Vectren Corporation) until 2000. Christian subsequently held several executive roles at Vectren Corporation, including Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Legal Officer from 2003 to 2009. In 2009, they took on the position of Executive Vice President of External Affairs, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary at Vectren Corporation.
Ron Christian obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies from the University of Evansville, where they studied from 1976 to 1980. Ron then pursued their graduate studies at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, obtaining a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in Law, which they completed from 1980 to 1983.
