Niraj Tolia

Niraj Tolia serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Veeam Software since September 2024, following a tenure as CEO and Co-Founder of Alcion, which was acquired by Veeam in September 2024. Tolia’s previous experience at Veeam includes roles as Senior Vice President of Strategy and President and General Manager of Kasten, where leadership focused on Kubernetes Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions. Tolia co-founded Kasten, leading its product vision and strategy, before its acquisition by Veeam. An established leader in technology, Tolia has held various significant positions, including Senior Director at EMC, Vice President of Engineering at Maginatics, and Senior Researcher at HP Labs. Academic credentials include a PhD in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, complemented by a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, also from Carnegie Mellon University.
