Ed Schmit is an experienced professional with a diverse background in construction, education, and real estate investment. Currently serving as a Teacher at The War Counsel since October 2019, Schmit focuses on leadership and community development. As President of Schmit Construction Inc. since March 1995, Schmit has overseen operations for nearly 50 years and has developed a robust career in the construction industry, also holding the role of Project Manager - Estimator at Veit & Company, Inc. since November 2016. Previous experience includes partnerships and leadership roles at MJE Homes LLC and Schmit Homes LLC, as well as serving as President of LIFE Business, emphasizing the importance of self-education. Ed Schmit holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, completed in 1986.

The company survived the early years by tackling challenging specialty contracting projects. That tradition continues today under the leadership of Frank’s grandson, Vaughn Veit.
