Lisa Newon George, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in the gaming industry. Lisa Newon began their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003. Lisa Newon then moved on to the University of Arizona in 2006 as a Graduate Researcher. In 2009, they joined Riot Games as a Community Intern. From 2015 to 2018, they were the Insights Lead, EU | Researcher at Riot Games, responsible for leading the Insights team in EU, providing leadership / product teams with data / frameworks / strategic advice to inform key decisions, and unlocking better experiences for players through a data-informed approach. Lisa Newon also helped teams understand and navigate the complexity of Riot’s European player base though research (market research, product testing, player studies & ethnography), analytics (metrics & KPI tracking, data science), and strategic consulting. In 2018, they joined Vela Games as Co-Founder | Director of Insights.

Lisa Newton George, Ph.D. began their education in 2002 when they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Lisa Newon then went on to receive a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Arizona in 2008. Finally, they completed their education in 2014 when they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
