Emily Straw

Emily Straw is a seasoned professional in the investment management industry with extensive experience in business development and client service. Currently serving as a Partner at VELA Investment Management, LLC since April 2024, Emily previously held the title of Senior Vice President of Business Development and Client Service at FPA (First Pacific Advisors) from May 2020 to February 2024. Prior roles include Managing Director and Partner at Palmer Square Capital Management LLC, Managing Director of Institutional Client Service and Business Development at SSI Investment Management, and Director of Institutional Client Service and Business Development at Artisan Partners. Emily's career began as an Analyst at Columbus Circle Investors and has included a range of roles in institutional client service and marketing. Emily holds a BA in Political Science and Sociology from Mount Holyoke College, where Emily studied from 1991 to 1995, and attended The Buckley School and Flintridge Prep prior to their college education.
