Andres Olave has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Andres started their career in 2003 as a Software Engineer at Tourism Technology. Andres then worked as a Lead Developer at Mole Valley Farmers and Virgin Mobile. In 2007, they joined DST Systems as a System Architect.
Later, Olave worked at Validis, where they held multiple roles including System Architect and CTO. During their time at Validis, they were responsible for technical pre-sales to top banks and audit firms, technical operations, agile project management, and line management. Andres also ensured compliance with security processes and led business continuity planning.
In 2014, Olave co-founded Sportwize LTD, a sports betting app, where they served as a Co-Founder. Andres played a crucial role in product design, financial modeling, and pitching.
From 2016 to 2018, Olave worked at Gefen Technologies as the CTO. Andres led a team of 30 individuals and focused on building scalable microservices systems for web and mobile apps. Andres'sresponsibilities included architectural design, working processes such as Kanban and CI-CD, compliance management, and bridging the gap between executives and product teams.
In 2012, Olave became the Managing Director at Thinking Bytes Limited. Currently, they hold the position of CTO at Velocity Career Labs since 2019.
Andres Olave completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with First Class Honours and Philosophy from UNSW between 1996 and 2002. Following this, they pursued their MSc degree in Globalisation & International Policy Analysis from the University of Bath from 2005 to 2007. Prior to their higher education, Andres attended Fort Street High School from 1990 to 1995, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned during this period.
