Sophia Rini

Sophia Rini is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, and sustainability across various organizations. Currently serving as the Senior Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager at VELUX since February 2024, Rini previously held significant roles at ROCKWOOL Group and ROCKWOOL North America, where responsibilities included global public affairs and strategic communications. Rini also contributed to the NYC Mayor's Office of Climate Policy and Programs as Deputy Director of External Affairs and led intergovernmental and community affairs at the US Environmental Protection Agency. Early career accomplishments include serving as the Interim Editor for The Tico Times, managing operations and editorial content for the prominent English-language newspaper in Central America. Rini holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Chicago and dual Master of Fine Arts degrees in Nonfiction Writing and Writing from Sarah Lawrence College.
