Automation Engineer At Venator Materials at Venator

Brian Keenan started their work experience as an Electrical Instrument and Control Engineer at CGTL in 2011. In this role, they managed daily and major shutdown operations, troubleshooted and modified E, C & I systems, and implemented Rockwell PLC/SCADA based projects.

Brian then worked as an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer on a contract basis at Cimlogic in 2015. Here, they were responsible for commissioning a new build Thermo Fisher Pharmaceutical Plant Building, utilizing GE Cimplicity HMI and Rockwell ControlLogix.

In 2015, Brian joined Air Products as an Instrument and Control Engineer. Brian worked on a multi-million pound new build plant for gasification of refuse waste and power generation, dealing with core systems such as DeltaV BPCS and SLS 1508. Brian attended engineering and configuration training for DeltaV implementation.

From 2017 to 2019, Brian held various roles in different companies. Brian worked as a Batch DCS Engineer at Chr. Hansen, a Control Systems Engineer at Solvay, and a Lead Control Systems Engineer at ABB.

In 2018, Brian joined Babcock & Wilcox Vølund as an Instrument and Control Systems Engineer. Brian commissioned Wood to Energy power plants and produced commissioning procedures while inspecting systems.

In 2019, Brian worked at Johnson Matthey as a Control System Engineer. Their responsibilities included automation engineering for the design and delivery of ICSS and vendor PLC based packages, acting as a discipline engineer, and dividing their time between FEED Engineering and End Client offices.

In 2020, Brian joined PM Group as a Lead Automation and Instrument Engineer. Brian worked on automation and instrument engineering, leading projects, and worked until May 2022.

Most recently, Brian started working as an Automation Engineer at Venator Materials Plc in June 2022. The information on their role is ongoing.

Brian Keenan attended Teesside University from 1988 to 1990, where they obtained an HNC in Instrumentation. Brian then continued their education at Teesside University from 1990 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Instrumentation and Control. Additionally, Brian has obtained several certifications, including Functional Safety Engineer from TÜV Rheinland AG in April 2016, CompEx Ex01 to Ex04 from JTL and EMMUA, and JIB registered Instrument Mechanic, Installation and Maintenance Electrician from JIB.
