Esa Latva-Nirva has extensive work experience in the research and development field. Esa started their career as a Trainee at PelkinElmer Wallac Oy in 1995 and then moved on to Kemira Pigments Oy in 1998, where they worked as a Scientist responsible for product development and research projects in TiO2 production. In 2007, they joined Kemira Germany as a Senior Application Scientist, focusing on cosmetics application and coordinating TiO2-related cosmetic research between the company's technical research centers. In 2009, they transitioned to Sachtleben Chemie GmbH as a Senior Application Scientist and later became the Research and Development Manager at Sachtleben Pigments Oy in 2010. Esa worked in this role until 2014 when they joined Huntsman Pigments as a Research and Development Manager. Currently, they are the Global R&D Manager at Venator Materials Plc, starting from January 2020.
Esa Latva-Nirva completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Turku, which they attended from 1992 to 1997. In 2004 to 2005, they studied Organizational Leadership at the JTO School of Management, earning a JET certification. Additionally, from 2011 to 2012, Esa attended the Technical University of Tampere, where they pursued a degree in Organizational Leadership known as JOKO. Furthermore, they obtained a Diploma in Cosmetic Science from the Society of Cosmetic Scientists in 2021.
