VP, R&D Program Management at Venatorx Pharmaceuticals

Jennifer Nelson is currently the VP of R&D Program Management at Venatorx Pharmaceuticals. Jennifer has over twelve years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, starting their career at AstraZeneca in February of 2002. There, they served as the Project Director for Strategic and Change Initiatives/Clinical Project Management Director. In this role, they were responsible for driving the implementation of the US component of a $2.3 billion company restructuring program impacting 1200 US employees. Additionally, they served as the Project Director for Clinical Data Transparency Initiative, where they led a cross-functional team sponsored by the Chief Medical Officer to develop a strategy and proposal relating to disclosure of patient-level clinical data for external research.

In their time at AstraZeneca, Jennifer also served as the Interface Requirements Leader for ARO Cardiovascular Outcomes Studies, where they led design and development of joint requirements for end to end data and information flow in 2 outcomes studies run in parallel through an Academic Research Organization (ARO). Additionally, they served as the Clinical Project Management Director for NDA/MAA Submissions, where they managed the integrated cross-functional planning and delivery of Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Infection NDA and MAA submissions.

Jennifer’s experience in leading and delivering global projects in the pharmaceutical industry has been instrumental in their success at Venatorx Pharmaceuticals. In their current role as VP of R&D Program Management, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of Venatorx’s R&D program portfolio, including strategy, execution, and delivery. Under their leadership, Venatorx has been able to successfully bring several new products to market, solidifying their position as a leading player in the pharmaceutical industry.

Jennifer Nelson has a BS in Chemistry from Ursinus College and is certified from the Project Management Institute in Project Management Professional.

They work with Ezra Felker - Chief Operating Officer, Susan Emeigh Hart - VP, Non-Clinical Safety, and Greg Moeck - SVP, Microbiology. Jennifer Nelson reports to Christopher J. Burns, Founder, President & CEO.
