Michael Ackermann

Michael Ackermann is currently an advisor at Vensana Capital. Prior to this, they served as the chairman of Oyster Point Pharma, Inc. from October 2017 to October 2020. Michael has also held the position of vice president of neurostimulation at Allergan from August 2015 to June 2017, and president and CEO of Oculeve, Inc. from June 2012 to August 2015. Ackermann began their career as a postdoctoral scholar at Case Western Reserve University from September 2004 to August 2010, before moving on to work as an R&D systems & technology at Boston Scientific from March 2009 to May 2009.

Michael Ackermann has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Michael also has a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Michael is currently a Research Fellow in Ophthalmology at Stanford University and a Biodesign Fellowship at Stanford University.
