Arup Chakraborty has worked in the engineering field since 2004. Arup began as an Associate Software Engineer at ST Microelectronics, where they developed physical layer software for 3G basestations. In 2005, they moved to Freescale Semiconductor as a Processor Architecture Performance Modeling and Analysis Engineer for PowerPC Processors. In 2008, they held an Intern Performance Analaysis of PowerPC Systems role at Freescale Semiconductor and was also a Co-founder and Chief Information Officer at SIMON, a revolutionary new watch that promotes cardiovascular fitness. In 2010, they were an Engineering Intern at Qualcomm. From 2011-2016, they were a Performance Analysis Engineer at NXP acquires Freescale Semiconductor and from 2016-2019, they were a Performance Architect at Samsung SARC | ACL. Currently, they are a Sr. Staff Engineer at Ventana Micro Systems.

Arup Chakraborty began their education in 2007 at UC Irvine, where they completed partial PhD work, though they did not finish their PhD. Arup then attended Vidyasagar University, followed by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where they obtained a Master of Technology (M.Tech.). Finally, they attended South Point High School.
