Ventura County Fire Department
Peter Jensen, CEM, has extensive work experience in the fire department and emergency management field. Peter began their career in 1990 as an Engineer at Point Mugu NAS Fire Department. In 1998, they joined Ventura County Fire Department as a Battalion Chief and also started working at County of Ventura as a Fire Captain/ Hazmat Officer. Throughout their career, they have gained valuable knowledge and skills in fire fighting and hazardous materials management.
Peter Jensen, CEM, has a Master's degree in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from American Military University, which they completed in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Occupational Studies from California State University, Long Beach. Their high school education was completed at Hueneme High School. In November 2019, Peter Jensen obtained a certification as a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) from the International Association of Emergency Managers.

The Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) is an all-hazard, full-service agency with more than 580 dedicated men and women. VCFD proudly provides fire protection, medical aid, rescue, hazardous materials response, and a variety of other services to the public. Formed in 1928 as a special district, VCFD serves more than 480,000 citizens in unincorporated areas of Ventura County. Our response area covers 848 square miles, including the following cities: Ojai, Port Hueneme, Moorpark, Camarillo, Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks.
