James Koenig

James Koenig's work experience includes serving as the Director of Local District Support Services at the Ventura County Office of Education since July 2021. Prior to that, they were the School Principal at Santa Barbara Junior High from July 2020 to August 2021. From January 2016 to July 2020, they worked as the Director of Student Support Services at the Oxnard Union High School District. James also has experience as a Principal at the Ventura County Office of Education from July 2011 to January 2016 and as an Assistant Principal at the Oxnard Unified School District from July 2009 to June 2011. Before that, they held various roles including Dean of Student Accountability, Teacher of Adult School ESL, and Teacher of Social Science & Spanish at OUHSD from 2005 to 2009. James started their teaching career as a Teacher of Social Science & Spanish at the Ojai Unified School District from August 2003 to June 2005.

James Koenig obtained an Associate's degree in General Studies from Ventura College between 1996 and 1998. James then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Social Sciences at Humboldt State University from 1998 to 2000. Following this, they acquired a Supplement Credential in Spanish from Tech de Monterrey in 2000-2001. Lastly, James completed their education with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Azusa Pacific University.
