Dr. Rene Rickard serves as the Chief Innovation Officer for Ventura Unified School District since July 2008, previously holding the role of Director of Assessment Accountability & Program Evaluation. Prior to this, Dr. Rickard was the Principal at Rio Mesa High School from January 2005 to June 2008 and served as Assistant Principal at both Oxnard High School and Hueneme High School between 2004 and 2004, as well as 1997 to 2004, respectively. Early career experience includes teaching roles at Taft High School and Parkman Middle School. Dr. Rickard earned an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University and holds both an MA in Educational Administration and a BA in English from California State University, Northridge. Additionally, educational background includes GCE "A" Level and "O" Level Exams from St. Helens School and Bahrain School.
