Heidi Smith

Heidi Smith has extensive experience in the education field, starting their career in 2004 as a Graduate Naturalist at the Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center. Heidi then worked as an Environmental Educator at Frost Valley YMCA before joining Pioneer Charter School in 2006, where they served as a Literacy Instructor and Tutor. At Pioneer Charter School, Heidi also held roles such as Science Educator, Middle School Lead Evaluator, and Instructional Coach. In 2014, they joined KIPP Minnesota as an 8th Grade Science Teacher. Since 2016, Heidi has been working at Venture Academies, where they have held various roles, including 9th Grade Biology Teacher, 9th-10th Grade Humanities Teacher, Academic Programs Manager, and High School Principal. Heidi'sresponsibilities at Venture Academies included managing staff and students, overseeing academic operations, coordinating staff professional development, and managing online learning platforms and technology. Overall, Heidi has demonstrated their expertise in teaching, leadership, and instructional coaching throughout their career.

Between 2004 and 2005, they pursued a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Environmental Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
