Aila Malik is an experienced executive and educator. In 2015, they founded and co-principaled Venture Leadership Consulting, where they served as an interim executive for various clients, including Kristi Yamaguchi's Always Dream, First Place for Youth, City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley, 49ers Foundation, BUILD, and The Imagine Bus Project. In 2018, they took a break from their professional career to travel with their family, serving as a travel journalist and homeschool principal/janitor. In 2021, they were accepted into the Presidential Leadership Scholars program as a Class of 2022 Scholar. Aila also served as the Chief Strategic Officer/Chief Operations Officer of Fresh Lifelines for Youth from 2001 to 2005 and as an Adjunct Lecturer at Santa Clara University School of Law from 2005 to 2015. In 2022, they began serving as the Interim Executive Director of Armstead Academic Project.
Aila Malik attended UC Santa Barbara from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science. Aila then attended Santa Clara University School of Law from 2001 to 2004, earning a JD in Law. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Victim Offender Mediation from Santa Clara County.
