Vanetta Thomas has a wealth of work experience. Vanetta began their career in 2011 as an Education Implementation Specialist for Raising Expectations. In 2012, they served as a Hands on Atlanta AmeriCorps member for Hands On Atlanta. From 2014-2015, they held two Graduate Research Assistant roles for the Rwanda Zambia HIV Research Group and the Zambia Emory HIV Research Project. From 2015-2017, they were a Research Associate for the Public Health Institute and then a Senior Consultant, Senior Research Associate, and Research Associate for Bright Research Group. In 2021, they became an Independent Consultant while also working as a Development Manager and Contract Specialist for Community Works West. Currently, they are a Community Impact Specialist for the Venture Leadership Collective.
Vanetta Thomas has a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Emory University in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education, which they obtained in 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a BS in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University in 2011. In April 2015, they obtained a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
